Breastfeeding saves lives.
Yes, breastfeeding lowers the risk of breast cancer among nursing women.
A metanalysis in 2013 concluded that breastfeeding is a protective factor against breast cancer. Women who have breastfed - regardless of the breastfeeding duration - were 14% less likely to develop breast cancer than women who had never breastfed. Likewise, a 2002 research with a large sample size of 5000 women found that every 12 months of breastfeeding lowered breast cancer risks by an additional 4.3%. Therefore, the more months women breastfeed cummaltively - the more they are protected against breast cancer!
Breastfeeding is also a gift for ourselves.
