Who Am I?

IBCLC Lactation Consultant

Hi there, I am Temima Shaashua, mother of two. When I gave birth to my oldest son, I started on a painful, hard and complicated journey to breastfeed him.

I struggled. I made mistakes. I researched like crazy. It was devastating whenever it didn't work. It was incredible when it did.
Eventually, I fell in love with this field. In 2019 I decided to achieve a professional background and started the journey to become an IBCLC lactation consultant.

I have always pursued subjects that interest me. I have a B.Sc. in Cognitive Science and Mathematics and a M.A. with honors in Linguistics.

I live in Revava in the Shomron and do home visits in the Shomron and the Center of the country, up to 40 minutes drive away.

I speak English and Hebrew fluently, and do consultations in both languages.

‏I reached out to Temima after I had been told that my baby was not gaining enough weight and that I should switch to formula. As a first time mom, this was devastating for me. I was willing to use formula, but only as a last resort. I wanted so badly to make breastfeeding work, but felt confused on how to proceed.

Temima was exactly the support I need. During her visit, she listened patiently and attentively to all of my concerns. She sat with me and made a plan that was specific to my situation and needs. She always checked in and asked how I was doing and was available to answer any questions. With her help, my baby girl gained all the weight she needed and more with breastfeeding alone. I could not be more grateful ❤️
